New Moon in Aries & The Princess
Once upon a time…
Once upon a time, long, long ago in a land far, far away, there lived a Princess and she worked in a beautiful garden on the outskirts of a bustling city. She loved the tranquility of her work in the early morning hours and would tend the herbs and flowers growing at her feet.
Many years later, she found herself in a new land during an unusual time. She stayed in her comfy home and spent very little time exploring her new surroundings.
Then, one spring morning,
the Princess (now a Queen) decided that she would take a day to herself and go exploring. She found that there was a garden near her home, so she set off in her little red car.
Hours were spent walking the paths and she came across familiar plants and even remembered some of her Latin nomenclatures.
Then she came to the Japanese garden.
It was so tranquil, that you could barely hear the traffic from the city.
There she met, Henry.
He invited her to join him on the little bench and together they basked in the sun and meditated. While their lives were quite different, they knew this was a sacred space and they could enjoy each other’s company in peace. The Queen breathed deep and set her intentions for the New Moon. When she opened her eyes, she saw that Henry had moved on, probably to grab some lunch in the shrubs below.
As more people arrived to walk the Japanese garden, it became apparent that The Queen needed to move on and continue her exploration. She found so many plants in bloom and captured many pictures to show off later. While many were names she knew, she found a few that made her giggle.
The Spotty Dotty, a silly-looking little plant and a Drag Queen.
Cascading water flowed from a rock wall into a pool of koi fish and the laughter of the children watching the fish brought a smile to her face. She found another garden on the rooftop and took another deep breath when she realized it was time for her to leave the small garden.
Worry not, her fun time was not quite over.
She drove herself into the city. This was a big deal for The Queen. When she was a young Princess, she hated driving into cities. She always got lost and would find herself crying not knowing how to get out of the scary mazes. One day, Prince Charming came to rescue her after she got lost but that is a story for another day.
So she drove into the city to find a huge Yellow Mushroom.
This was the best kind of Mushroom, (No, not that one!) he was very Mellow and provided the Queen with a beautiful round of scrumptious dough…
Holy Shiitake Pie, Batman!!!
I know, I’m getting my fairy tales mixed up with comic Superheros.
Anyway, this beautiful pie was covered with garlic, roasted shiitake, button, and portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella, and cheddar cheeses. On top of all this heavenly goodness were fresh chives, shaved Parmesan, and garlic aioli with a spritz of black truffle oil.
The Queen thought she had died and gone to heaven when she took the first bite.
The Queen felt complete in her self-care afternoon and ventured back home to her trusted companion, Cadin the German Shepherd and she even found a four-leaf clover when she took him for his walk. What a beautiful day.
The moral of the story…take some time for yourself.
Explore your surroundings, as you never know what you might find.
What are you doing for yourself today on this beautiful new moon in Aries?
