Fresh summer tomatoes, basil and mozzarella make this a favorite in our home. This is so good with or without the bun.
Caprese Burgers
Ready in 30 minutes
Serves 4 people
Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs. 70% lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- ¼ cup chopped basil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- ½ tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 slices fresh mozzarella
- 4 Brioche Buns
- Additional Basil for Garnish
Preparation
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat, lightly grease the grate.
- Mix together beef, tomato paste, basil, garlic, parmesan, balsamic, and pepper.
- Form 4 patties.
- Cook on grill until desired doneness. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 160 degrees F.
- Top each burger with mozzarella and allow to melt
- Serve on buns with tomato and garnish with additional chopped basil.
- Serve with side salad, Italian Baked Beans or fries.
